Chores and teenagers
What do you think of doing chores? Do you like to do chores? I think teenagers should try to do chores. Doing chores is a good way of learning skills. When we do chores , we learn how to take care of ourselves and others. And it is also a good way of doing exercise and keeping healthy. What’s more, doing chores can help us understand others. It helps us communicate with others better.
I like to sweep the floor, because I think sweeping the floor is really relaxing and interesting, and it is a good way to release my pressure. I hate to make dinner, because it is very boring and tiring.
Nowadays, only a few teenagers do chores every day. Most of teenagers hardly ever do chores every day. On the one hand, teenagers are busy, and they have too much homework every day, so they have no time to help parents do chores. On the other hand, our Chinese family pays too much attention to their kids. Sometimes parents don’t want their kids to do chores.

Unit 12
Xiamen, my hometown
Have you heard of Xiamen? Have you been to Xiamen? As for me , Xiamen is my hometown. For many
visitors, Xiamen is a wonderful place to take a vacation. Xiamen is in Fujian Province in southern China. It is
still warm in winter. It is about 20 °C . So you don’t need to wear warm clothes.
Xiamen is a good place to enjoy different kinds of seafood. Shuyou Restaurant is the best in town, although it is a little expensive. All the department store are good in Xiamen. Tianhong Department Store is the best of all, because it has the best quallity clothing and the friendliest service. Most people in our town like to buy clothes there. Lujiang Hotel is in the most fun part of town. The price of a hotel room is about 450 yuan a night. It is expensive, but you can see Gulangyu Island and enjoy the beautiful views from hotel rooms.
Xiamen has lovely seas and beaches, so you can swim in the sea and enjoy sunbath on the beach. Xiamen is also full of interesting places, such as Nanputuo Temple, the Sunshine Rock, Shuzhang Garden. It’s also famous for its Gulangyu Island. It is called “the Garden on the sea”. When you walk along the island, you can hear people playing the piano here and there. You can also see many old buildings which are in European style. This is an interesting island with a very colorful history and some European influence.
Xiamen is a good place to enjoy our lives. The more you know about Xiamen , the more you will love her.

I have a beautiful schoolbag. It is a blue, square bag made of canvas. It is about 34 cm long and 24 cm tall.
my schoolbag is not too big, but it can hold many books and notebooks when I go to school. It has two side pockets where I can store my pencil case and mobile phone.
I like my schoolbag very much, because it helps me a lot. When I go to school, it is my best friend. I got my schoolbag as a birthday gift from my grandmother. I love my schoolbag. This schoolbag reminds me of my grandmother’s love and my school life.
